At 30,000 feet, the world looks different, and so does the opportunity for sustainability. We’re excited to announce that PlasticFri has partnered with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) in its innovative step toward a greener future in aviation.
In a concept flight from Copenhagen to Los Angeles, SAS introduced PlasticFri’s plant-based, plastic-free cups, marking a new chapter in their efforts for sustainable aviation. This initiative, part of The Aviation Challenge (TAC), brought our eco-friendly cups into the skies—an industry first for PlasticFri and a major milestone in reducing single-use plastics in air travel.
Why This Flight Matters
The aviation industry has long faced challenges when it comes to environmental impact. From fuel emissions to the prevalence of single-use plastics, the journey toward a more sustainable approach is complex. But small changes, like replacing plastic products onboard, are meaningful first steps.
SAS has consistently taken action in this space, and by incorporating PlasticFri’s cups, they’re tackling one of aviation’s biggest environmental concerns: waste. The cups, made with entirely renewable plant-based materials, help reduce reliance on traditional plastic and underline how change is possible—even at flying levels.
On the Horizon
Our collaboration with SAS is just the beginning. At PlasticFri, we’re dedicated to innovating solutions that fit seamlessly into existing systems and elevate sustainability as a standard, not a luxury. With initiatives like this one, we’re looking forward to continuing the journey toward a plastic-free future, one flight at a time.
Thank You for Being Part of This Journey
It’s through support and partnerships like these that our vision comes closer to reality. Together, we’re reshaping what’s possible in sustainability and showing that even in the skies, we can make a difference!
